For 26 years local and regional MED Week celebrations have been held throughout the country, culminating with a National MED Week conference and White House ceremony honoring the achievements and many contributions of minority entrepreneurs, individuals, and organizations that support minority development. Company History
Mervin R. Williams founded Mer-Wil Industries, Inc., in 1983 to supply kitchen and bath cabinets to HUD properties throughout the USA.
With over twenty years of experience and sales of more than $30 million to public and local housing authorities and military installations.
Mer-Wil Industries’ growth in public sector kitchen cabinet sales ascended to a new level in 1998 when Mer-Wil Industries was awarded a General Service Administration contract for kitchen and bath cabinets — the first such “schedule” awarded by GSA for kitchen cabinets.
Mer-Wil Industries is a member of a national distribution network with seven locations throughout the United States and 70,000 items per location and has been awarded GSA Contract #FS-06F-0059N for industrial commercial, hardware and building supplies. This enables our customers to fulfill their diverse needs without compromising the level of quality, experience, dependability and competitive pricing they desire and have come to expect from Mer-Wil Industries throughout years.
HubZone
Mervin Williams, founder and president of Mer-Wil Industries, has a strong commitment to the Flint Michigan community. He is excited about the potential the HubZone program offers Flint, and he is glad to grow his business there.
HubZone certified companies, such as Mer-Wil Industries, employs residents who live in Historical Underutilized Business areas. Currently, 50% of Mer-Wil Industries employees reside in the city of Flint.

Mer-Wil SBA certifications include Hubzone, Small Disadvantage Business and Minority Business Enterprise. Mer-Wil also holds certifications in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Maryland, California, and New York. Mer-Wil is certified by the Michigan Minority Business Development Council.
